Ailsa Richardson

As a performer, dancer and visual artist I am inspired by colour and how we relate to place and land. My collages and hand printed lampshades combine vibrant colour contrast, subtle texture and fragments of names and poetry in Cymraeg. I also facilitate creative pilgrimage and nature connection under the name wildfeet.

I grew up near Newport and returned to live in Moylgrove 5 years ago. Since returning to my home landscape I have been  inspired to begin printmaking again.

The textiles on the shades are made by screen printing and direct applications of inks, and the designs are inspired by the colours and forms of the different seasons. Each one is unique. I also works on commission for domestic and public spaces and contexts.
