Jolly Magpie
Eve Whiteley - Jolly Magpie Designs
Eve is a textile designer and seamstress, who grew up in the heart of London during the Swinging '60s and Punk era of the '70s. Her parents graduated from The Chelsea school of Art and St Martins, and the family home was filled with artists, photographers and the fashion conscious (her father was one of the small team of designers for the big Biba store).
Since a child she has always adored being creative, eventually finely tuning her skills and eye for detail, with a BA honours degree in Fashion and textiles at Cheltenham.
Now living in North Pembrokeshire, Eve was originally inspired to make felt crowns after creating a full 'Max' costume (from the book 'Where the wild things are' by Maurice Sendak) for her young son.. which she previously sold in Bethnal Green London and Park Street Bristol.
She is as passionate as ever about the organic process of dreaming up colourful bold ideas and forms, and spending time experimenting with proportion, stitches and construction, until the original idea is happily realised.
